On this mind-blowing cycling tour in Italy, we’ll immerse ourselves in a unique natural landscape. We’ll ride among lemon and olive groves along the dramatic rugged coastline full of enchanting villages which still retain a character of their own. We’ll savour mouth-watering local home-made dishes and great wines at our favourite country retreats and at the finest restaurants along the route. Furthermore, we will have all the time we need to relax and recharge in enchanting locations.
Welcome to the adventure! Our guides will meet you at Naples International airport and will transfer you to your hotel in Sorrento. After a welcome lunch that will introduce you to local delicacies like spaghetti alle vongole (seafood pasta) mozzarella in carrozza and sfogliatella, we’ll get fitted on our bikes and head off for a warm-up ride to get comfortable for the week ahead. From Sorrento down-town, we will quickly reach some of the most beautiful areas on the planet. We’ll pedal through beautiful countryside scattered with lemon trees, historic towns, little hamlets with wonderful views of the sea. In the afternoon we’ll stop at one of the best-known local eateries to sample local delicacies. Back to the hotel we’ll get ready for a gourmet dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Sorrento.

Today we are off to Paestum, we will ride among lemon and olive groves along the dramatic rugged coastline full of enchanting villages where we‘ll marvel at the sight of the legendary Faraglioni of Capri. We will pedal along beautiful roads on the sea passing through enchanting towns such as Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, where we’ll stop to enjoy the impressive vistas of the sapphire sea between the gulf of Naples and the gulf of Salerno. Here we’ll pause at the renowned pastry shop Fiorentino for a delicious coffee and a unique sfogliatella “La Santa Rosa”. We’ll continue riding to the breath-taking village of Positano, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
We’ll continue our ride across Salerno to Eboli where we’ll stop at a local caseificio (cheese factory) where we’ll taste the worldwide renowned mozzarella di bufala cheese. Back on our bikes we’ll pedal for 20 km to the magical village of Paestum. Here we’ll have some time to relax at our hotel and to visit the breath-taking and splendidly preserved Greek temples. Dinner at our favourite restaurant in town.

A nourishing breakfast prepares us for another scenic ride. We’ll pedal along a series of gentle ascents and smooth descents that will lead us to the quaint village of Castellabate immersed in the national park of Cilento which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998. Here we’ll reach a secluded panoramic spot where we’ll stop to enjoy the impressive endless vistas of the emerald sea and the various small enchanting islands. Once out of the park we’ll ride through the fishing village of Ogliastro Marina facing two gentle climbs then downhill across a stunning landscape along roads which will lead us to Palinuro, a real jewel on the Amalfi coast. Here we’ll climb to a panoramic spot to enjoy the breath-taking vistas of the endless blue sea, take some pictures and visit the lighthouse, the second highest in Italy. We will finish the day with a traditional dinner in a garden overlooking the sea.

After a traditional Italian breakfast, we will hit the road to enjoy another magnificent ride. We will ride along a series of smooth ascents and descents with stunning views of the emerald sea through beautiful villages and small towns to Marina di Camerota. From here we’ll start a serious climb 10km long through the hinterland along peaceful roads immersed in a beautiful nature. Once in San Giovanni a Piro we will find a series of ascents and descents along a route which offers incredible views of the coast line reaching the tiny hamlet of Torre Orsaia where we will stop for a snack. During a descent 10km long, we will find ourselves in an area that has remained unknown to Italians and tourists before pedalling on flat land along the coast before facing our last hard climb passing through nice villages such as Santa Marina and Vibonati. Once on top we will stop for a while to take some pictures and soak up the amazing vistas of the picturesque gulf of Sapri. We will go down an exhilarating descent for about 10 km that will bring us to the heart of Sapri to our hotel where we will relax before regrouping for dinner at our favourite restaurant.

Cycling: distance 75 km, elevation 1600 meters
Today we will spend most of this intense day in the wild uplands of Campania. From the heart of Sapri, we will head uphill for 20 km to the hinterland along dreamy and peaceful roads immersed in the amazing Mediterranean scenario, passing through Casaletto Spartano, Caselle in Pittari and other enchanting villages. We will pass through tranquil country roads and come across a varied flora that ranges from pine and hazelnut trees, to vineyards and oak trees. After an exhilarating descent and 10 km flat, we will reach Padula where we will marvel at its ancient Certosa which is a few steps far from our hotel. Dinner tonight at our favourite restaurant for an authentic specialità.

Cycling: distance 70 km, elevation 1300 meters
A sumptuous breakfast prepares us for another challenging cycling day. We will set off on peaceful roads off the beaten track, after a gradual climb 10 km long we will reach Montesano sulla Marcellana where we will be taken aback at the sight of Sant’Anna church, an imposing gothic cathedral. From here we will pedal for 30 km along a series of ascents and descents through green pastures, and wild meadows where the only sound is the chirping of birds and the only noises are made by our bikes. We will reach Sirino lake where we will stop for a typical lunch. After lunch, we will zoom downhill for 10km along a thrilling descent and then uphill along a quiet road that leads us to Trecchina, a tiny ancient hilltop village. We will continue our ride downhill along another traffic-free road that leads us back to the coast on our last climb that will take us to the Cristo di Maratea, a panoramic spot where to enjoy the stunning views of the endless emerald sea. Whilst enjoying the marvellous vista, we will ride downhill to our hotel in Maratea where we will relax and get ready for our favourite piatto and a chance to sample some splendid wines.
